Founding of INTERPLAST-Nepal

Inspired by the legacy of INTERPLAST-Germany, a group of dedicated, long-serving professionals from SKM Hospital came together in March 2024 to establish INTERPLAST-Nepal (IPNL)—a bold step toward expanding access to surgical care in Nepal’s most underserved regions.

INTERPLAST-Nepal is committed to organizing surgical and screening camps in remote communities, while also supporting the development of local health centers and hospitals. A key focus is the advancement of burn surgery and the training of medical personnel and health workers, ensuring that care is not only delivered—but sustained.

To support this mission, training programs at SKM Hospital are being launched to equip doctors and nurses with specialized skills in burn treatment. At the same time, local fundraising efforts are underway to fuel ongoing humanitarian initiatives.

With seed funding and guidance from INTERPLAST-Germany e.V., several training sessions and support programs have already taken root. The founding of INTERPLAST-Nepal marks a powerful new chapter in the movement to bring expert, compassionate surgical care to every corner of the country.

May the spirit of INTERPLAST continue to thrive in Nepal—empowering healing, one community at a time.
