Interplast Nepal

Founding of INTERPLAST-Nepal

Following the example of INTERPLAST-Germany, a number of dedicated, long-standing employees of the SKM Hospital founded INTERPLAST-Nepal (IPNL) in March 2024.

As described in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the aim is to provide free treatment to poor, marginalized patients (charity patients) with severe burns and disfiguring scar contractures, as well as cleft lip and palate.

INTERPLAST-Nepal aims to organize surgical and screening camps in various underserved, remote regions of Nepal and also help establish health centers and hospitals there. This includes establishing burn surgery and, above all, training medical personnel and health workers.

To this end, training events are planned at the SKM Hospital to train both doctors and nurses in burn treatment. In addition, donations will be collected in Nepal to support humanitarian activities.

INTERPLAST-Germany eV supported the foundation with seed capital, and several training events and support programs have already been implemented. May the INTERPLAST idea continue to be realized in Nepal in the coming years.
